Rapper Lil B is getting death threats after he announced at Coachella that he is naming his upcoming album “I’m Gay.” He told MTV, “People been hitting me like, ‘I’m gonna bash your head in,’ ‘you f***t,’ ‘I’m gonna kill you.”

Regardless of his album’s title, Lil B says that he is not gay. He says he is “gay,” though, by the “extremely happy” definition. He said, “I’m very gay, but I love women. I’m not attracted to men in any way. I’ve never been attracted to a man in my life. But yes I am gay. I’m so happy. I’m a gay, heterosexual male.”

GLAAD had this to say: “As a lyricist, Lil B knows that words matter. Slurs have the power to fuel intolerance. We hope that Lil B’s album title is not just a gimmick, and is really a sincere attempt to be an ally. He has the platform and the voice. We hope he uses it in a positive way.”

Lil B told MTV, “I got major love for the gay and lesbian community, and I just want to push less separation and that’s why I’m doing it. I hope GLAAD sees that I’m taking initial steps to break barriers.”

In any case, he’s certainly accomplished one thing – insane amounts of free press.
