Oreos. What were once the most family-friendly, God-fearing Christian cookies on the market have horrified thousands of their most homophobic fans this past week. Why? As it turns out, Oreos are actually open-minded, equality-loving, gay pride-celebrating sin-cookies!
The rainbow frosting Oreo won’t actually be available to buy, but was created for a simple campaign during Pride season. Oreo spokesperson Basil Maglaris said in an interview that “as a company, Kraft Foods has a proud history of celebrating diversity and inclusiveness. We feel the OREO ad is a fun reflection of our values.” Let Oreos know that you think they’re even more awesome for what they did here.
Many angry people took to their Facebook (gay friendly company) pages that they were reading on their computers (Miscrosoft and Apple – both supportive of the LGBT community) to voice their outrage over the posting of the Pride Oreo alongside the caption, ‘Proudly support love!” A smattering of the disgusting and hateful comments can be seen below.
